Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• 2 years experience required for high school diploma holders, 1 year for bachelor’s degree holders.

Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) – Acquired Brain Injury Program

Location: Hartford, CT (Plainfield, CT) & surrounding areas.

Pay: $18-20/hour.

Schedule: Flexible Full-Time & Part-Time opportunities (Day & Evening shifts).

What You’ll Do

• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
• Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client’s personalized service plan.
• Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress – big and small.
• Serve as a positive, steady presence as clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.

What You’ll Need

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a good driving record.
• Verifiable experience with acquired brain injury (ABI):
  • 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR
  • 1 year with a bachelor’s degree.
