Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Project Lead (Contingency Hire) to manage project initiation through closeout, coordinating logistics, facilities, platforms, and mission-enabling activities in support of ILS2 Task Orders.

This role emphasizes proactive risk, resource, and stakeholder management across the USINDOPACOM area. The position requires 10–15 years of experience, a secret clearance, and strong communication skills to brief leadership and maintain schedule and scope compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced degree may be required in some disciplines.
  • Professional Certification in Program Management (e.g., PMP/CAPM) is preferred.
  • Typically 10–15 years of relevant experience.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Experience managing projects through all lifecycle phases: planning, execution, monitoring, closeout.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, scheduling, resource planning, risk management, and performance reporting.
  • Experience developing project documentation, status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Summary

The Project Lead is responsible for the successful execution of assigned project-level activities in support of ILS2 Task Order requirements, ensuring mission objectives are achieved throughout the full project lifecycle from initiation through closeout. This role develops, manages, and executes Project Plans (PPs), coordinates Pre-Deployment Site Surveys (PDSS), supports resource planning, and oversees operational execution in alignment with Government requirements. The Project Lead serves as the primary point of coordination for project execution, integrating logistics, facilities, platform, and mission-enabling activities while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with mission priorities. Through proactive management of risks, resources, and stakeholder engagement, the Project Lead contributes to successful project delivery across the USINDOPACOM Area of Responsibility. This position is contingent upon award of the contract.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of assigned projects in support of ILS2 Task Order requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute Project Plans (PPs) to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
  • Coordinate Pre-Deployment Site Surveys (PDSS), resource planning efforts, and operational execution activities.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, performance, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and integrate logistics, facilities, platforms, and mission-enabling activities as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between program leadership, Government stakeholders, and supporting organizations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to support successful execution.
  • Prepare project documentation, status updates, After-Action Reports (AARs), and Monthly Status Report (MSR) inputs.
  • Ensure project activities are executed efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with mission requirements and contractual objectives.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In some disciplines, advanced degree may be a requirement to reach this level.
  • May hold a Professional Certification in Program Management.
  • Typically requires 10 to 15 years of relevant experience within the program.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience supporting DoD, USINDOPACOM, logistics, sustainment, facilities, or contingency operations.
  • Experience coordinating Pre-Deployment Site Surveys (PDSS) and field execution activities.
  • Familiarity with Government contracting environments and task order execution.
  • Knowledge of logistics, infrastructure, facilities, and mission-support operations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or similar project management certification.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams and high-visibility programs.

For Hawaii Applicants: The expected salary range for this position in Hawaii is $127,800 - $191,700. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, work location, and other job‑related factors. This range is provided in accordance with Hawaii pay transparency requirements and applies to candidates working in Hawaii.
