Hancock County School District seeks a Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student IEP goals. You will assist with lesson planning, group activities, and supervision to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

The role includes supporting teachers in reinforcing material and promoting positive behavior. The position requires completing at least two years of college or an associate degree, or passing the ACT Work Keys Silver level or higher.

Formación

• Completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher learning.
• Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree.
• Passed the ACT Work Keys Test at Silver Level or higher.

Responsabilidades

• Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with small groups of students.
• Guides students in appropriate intellectual and social activities.
• Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual students.
• Provides proper supervision to students as necessary.
• Fosters appropriate behavior in students.
• Assists with maintaining a safe, neat and orderly environment.
• Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays.
• Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material and skills based on individual needs.
• Operates and cares for equipment used in the school and classroom for instructional purposes.
• Assists with large group work such as drill work, reading aloud, and story telling.
• Assists students in the library and / or computer lab setting.
• Collects and records collection of money.
• Assists students with proper hygiene as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of information about students.
• Participates in professional development activities as required by the supervisor.
• Promotes a positive image of the school, its staff, and community.
• Models good reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Attends parent conferences as needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Helps implement student IEP's.

Educación

2 years of higher learning (48 semester hours)

Associate's degree or higher

ACT Work Keys Silver level or higher
