Job summary

BASIS Ed in the Austin area is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to oversee and deliver instructional services aligned with IEPs for students with disabilities. You will collaborate with general education staff and service providers to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

Responsibilities include directing IEP services, developing intervention plans, documenting progress, and coordinating with itinerant providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid Texas Special Education certification.
• Fingerprint clearance per Texas state regulations.
• Eligible for hire in Texas Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education services in small groups or one-on-one to meet IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and ensure timely compliance with special education regulations.
• Develop and implement academic and behavioral intervention plans for students.
• Write, develop, and update IEPs in alignment with state regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Collect and report progress on IEP goals and maintain student data documentation.
• Coordinate itinerant service providers and schedule services and meetings.
• Assist in the special education evaluation process including initial assessments and reevaluations.
• Provide case management and communicate with families and staff.
• Support differentiated instruction and inclusive practices in classrooms.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of student records.
• Prepare data for internal and external reporting requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
