Job summary

Okta on Okta Identity Architect is the premier hands-on role above Principal Engineer, acting as the ultimate practitioner of our own cloud platform. You will configure, deploy, and test the platform within Okta’s corporate IAM tenant, serving as Customer Zero and linking to core product teams.

Reporting directly to the VP of IAM, you will shape features from Alpha through Early Availability, collaborating with top engineers and customer practitioners to influence and improve the Okta platform

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Okta in large-scale production environments.
Deep knowledge of Okta Identity Engine (OIE), Directory Integrations, Advanced Policies, Workflows, and APIs.
Strong understanding of OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, mTLS, JWT, and MCP.
Ability to translate complex platform configurations into clear technical explanations.
Okta certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as the lead hands-on architect configuring and deploying Alpha platform capabilities within Okta’s own tenant.
Lead the architecture and configuration of AI Agent Security and token exchange.
Collaborate with customer engineers, sharing deployment experiences and lessons learned.
Contribute to technical content, videos, podcasts, and workshops at Oktane.
