Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is hiring a Software Engineer for the Access Programs team. You will build identity verification, vetting, and access management infrastructure that underpins trusted access to advanced model capabilities, along with monitoring and enforcement tooling to keep systems safe.

You will collaborate with policy, enforcement, threat intelligence, product, and research teams to ensure access decisions are well-informed and consistently applied.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE or equivalent experience.
• Experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong coding skills in at least one general-purpose programming language and experience with AI coding tools.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Care about the societal impacts of AI and safety.

Responsibilities

• Build identity verification and vetting systems (KYC/KYB) for individuals and businesses.
• Design access control systems to grant/scope/revoke access to advanced capabilities.
• Configure safety systems and detection thresholds per customer.
• Develop monitoring to detect misuse and tooling for enforcement teams.
• Collaborate with policy, enforcement, threat intel, product, and go-to-market teams.
