Job summary

Texas Panhandle Centers seeks a Clerk (1161) to deliver trauma-informed care and clerical support in the Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Service Coordination program for clients across Amarillo and the surrounding service area of the Texas Panhandle.

We offer a salary of $15.66 per hour for a Full-Time position in Amarillo, TX. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months clerical experience, and typing 45 wpm with strong communication skills; bilingual is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work.
• 6 months of clerical work experience.
• Experience with computer use and terminology.
• Ability to type 45 words per minute or higher.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using trauma-informed care language.
• Review and edit documents completed by Service Coordinators.
• Maintain client files with updated documents.
• File and revise client and staff contact information.
• Dispatch original documents to Medical Records and create duplicates.
• Compose letters and documents for clients and their families.
• Assist Service Coordinators in EHR on assigned caseloads.
• Contact clients in the Waiver Interest List and update via state portal.
• Prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
