Job summary

Saint Francis Ministries in Picayune, MS is seeking a Home Trainer to provide support, supervision, coaching, and training to developmentally disabled individuals in home and work settings.

Responsibilities include documenting care, assisting with ADLs, transporting clients to appointments, teaching life skills, and ensuring safe living environments. Must meet health and background checks; third shift duties and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Prefer two years of related work experience.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass drug screen, MVR, MS State Background Check and Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check; pass a physical examination & TB Skin Test.
• Lifting Requirements of 50 lbs.
• Valid Mississippi Driver’s License with clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains detailed daily IDD service notes and documentation as required.
• Provides supervision, coaching, and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Ensures clients' homes and living environments are safe and hazard-free.
• Accompanies and transports clients to medical appointments, activities, and employment sites.
• Teaches life skills such as budgeting, cooking, respect for others, etiquette, and social interactions.
• Implements person-centered support plans and de-escalates challenging behaviors.
• Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management channels.
• Follows Saint Francis Ministries policies and SOPs and attends regular trainings.
