Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in related work areas.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass drug screen, MVR, MS State Background Check and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check; pass a physical examination & TB Skin Test
• Lifting Requirements of 50 lbs.
• Valid Mississippi Driver’s License and Clear Driving Record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains detailed daily IDD service notes and documentation.
• Provides supervision, coaching, and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
• Monitors client homes to ensure safety and hazard-free environments.
• Assist with meals, laundry, transportation to medical appointments and community activities.
• Teaches life skills like budgeting, cooking, etiquette, and social interactions.
• Implements person-centered support plans and de-escalates challenging behaviours to promote a positive environment.
• Documents home training with date, location, attendees, and content.
• Attends regular trainings and staff meetings to stay updated.
