Job summary

GE Renewable Energy seeks an experienced Wind Technician to execute and document contractual site work at Idaho Falls hubs. You’ll service electrical and mechanical components of GE wind turbines, perform maintenance and parts replacement, and troubleshoot complex issues across variable-pitch and variable-speed systems.

You’ll travel regionally within Idaho 1, adhere to safety standards, and communicate with site leadership to meet contractual timelines.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year experience as Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic, or Wind cert/Associate’s degree.
Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment is required.
Must have basic computer skills and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site and hub activities.
Work on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators.
Perform maintenance, repairs, and parts replacement to correct malfunctions.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision.
Observe all safety requirements.
Perform diagnostic electrical analysis.
Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures.
Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
Travel locally within the Idaho 1 hub.
Work at all wind sites within Idaho 1 and report to assigned sites as directed by the manager.
Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to execute contract requirements and timelines.
