Job summary

McLaren Hospital in Michigan is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator to assist the Intensive Care Unit team. Under supervision of a registered nurse, you will support nursing staff and help deliver patient care according to care plans and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include responding to call lights, assisting with mobility and personal care, collecting and reporting patient data, and performing general clerical tasks such as data entry and phone coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health Unit Coordinator or medical terminology course is required.
• Specialized education options include acute care nursing assistant course, long term care nursing assistant course, EMT, medical assistant, or clinical rotation in accredited nursing program.
• Prior nursing assistant experience of at least six months if above education not met.
• BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or MTN equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient/resident care such as call light response, ambulating, transferring, positioning, and personal hygiene assistance.
• Collect, record, and report patient/resident data and changes in condition.
• Provide general clerical support to the unit, including answering phones and data entry.
