Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center offers an HCA Healthcare Residency Program in El Paso, TX, a year-long paid residency designed to bridge student nursing to registered nurse practice with hands-on clinical training and mentorship.

You will work with nurse educators and experienced staff, participate in simulations and a mentored project, and rotate through a specialty area to build critical thinking and patient-centered care skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• BLS within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment.
• Other Certifications may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift; identify and report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document care in medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor therapeutic response; notify provider if needed.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs; provide proactive care.
• Teach patients, families and caregivers about their condition, treatment plan, meds, and follow-up.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year

Other Certifications maybe required during employment
