Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, rotating shift position. The role includes 36 hours weekly with 12-hour shifts, alternating days and nights, and every other holiday/ weekend schedule.

The incumbent will provide patient care within a multidisciplinary team, using the nursing process, with opportunities for professional development and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Iowa.
• New Grads!
• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an accredited RN program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Previous experience in acute care preferred.
• Preferred certification in CCRN.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient's needs and document responses to nursing interventions.
• Develop and implement plan of care including discharge planning.
• Guide and direct patient care activities using clinical/critical thinking.
• Provide daily direction to LPN and Nurse Assistant.
• Facilitate learning to meet educational needs of patient/family.
• Communicate pertinent patient changes to colleagues and multidisciplinary caregivers.
• Attend departmental meetings and participate in education opportunities.
• Serve as a steward for resources and support staffing needs across units.
