Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a registered nurse for the Full Time Day Shift in a 12-hour rotation. The role emphasizes patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team, following the nursing process and professional standards.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning and evaluating care, directing LPNs and CNAs, and supporting ongoing staff education. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is offered along with Day 1 benefits and education support.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Iowa or multi-state license required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Previous acute care experience preferred.
• Magnet approved certifications preferred.
• Ability to multitask and meet department needs.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required prior to employment.
• Mandatory Reporting training within 6 months and every 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and documents responses with the care team.
• Develops and updates the plan of care, including discharge planning.
• Guides care activities using clinical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Provides daily direction to LPNs and Nurse Assistants.
• Delivers learning opportunities and teaches patient/family as needed.
