Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks an ICU Registered Nurse for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role supports the ICU- C-8 unit with a 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. schedule and 36 hours weekly, emphasizing teamwork, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional growth.

Requirements include NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS within 120 days, and ASN; BSN preferred. ICU/Telemetry experience strongly preferred; EPIC EMR proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification on hire; ACLS completed within 120 days of hire.
• CCRN preferred.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years' experience in Telemetry, Critical Care Nursing, ICU or ED is highly preferred.
• Comfort with EMR systems like EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients and families.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight for timely decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families for next steps.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record for continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds to improve transitions of care.
• Participate in a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
• Pursue continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
