Job summary

The Saint Joseph Mercy Health System's 6 North Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Ann Arbor cares for cardiac, heart failure, and complex medical/surgical patients requiring monitoring. The unit uses a collaborative approach to patient care and provides opportunities for professional growth.

We seek a Registered Nurse with MI licensure, BLS, ACLS for specific departments, and a BSN preferred. ICU experience and strong critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nursing program enabling NCLEX eligibility and RN licensure (MI).
• BSN preferred; additional degree not required for hire.
• Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a busy ICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, and revises a plan of care.
• Educates patients and families using teach-back method.
• Helps prevent hospital-acquired conditions through best practices.
• Communicates patient status and priorities during rounds and handoffs.
• Adheres to HIPAA policies and hospital mission and values.
