University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer a full range of RT procedures, manage ventilatory support, and support perfusion in ICU/ER and floor care areas.

The role requires an AS degree or equivalent, NBRC RRT, CA RCP license, and timely RAT/BLS; PALS/NRP within 6 months. Expect independent work and strong communication in a large teaching hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Two-year advanced practice RT education program or AS degree.
• RRT credential NBRC must be current.
• State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• RAT or BLS at time of hire with plan to obtain RAT within 6 months.
• PALS or NRP obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Administers general respiratory therapy procedures incl. humidity and aerosol therapy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains patients on continuous ventilatory support.
• Administers pharmacological agents and performs CPR.
• Performs invasive/noninvasive monitoring and diagnostics in ICU/ER.
• Works independently within ICU, ER and floor care areas.
