Job summary

Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU to deliver high-level critical care during night shifts. You will monitor patients, administer IV fluids, and collaborate with the medical team to adjust care plans as needed.

The role requires current RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications, and ICU experience. BSN preferred; CCRN encouraged. We offer comprehensive benefits and the chance to work at a Level III Trauma Center within a community-focused hospital.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in patient condition including monitoring results and diagnostic findings.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
