Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for Johnston Health on the 2nd Floor - CL, per diem, onsite in Clayton, NC. The role involves routine direct and indirect patient care under RN/physician supervision and coordination with the clinical education team for ACLS, PALS, and ICU core training.

Education none required if other requirements are met; NC DHHS Nursing Assistant I licensure and BLS are required; six months of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English
• Able to develop basic computer skills
• BLS certification required
• Six months nursing assistant experience preferred
• Nursing Assistant I license in NC

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in reality orientation and behavior modification plans.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information; report significant changes.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments per the plan of care (vital signs, measurements, wound care).
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living.
• Maintain work area, restock supplies, and assist with orientation of new staff/students.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials.
