Job summary

UNC Health in Clayton, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the ICU/PCU unit. This role provides competent nursing care, coordinates patient care using the nursing process, reports to the Nurse Manager/Director, and supports patient safety and family education on a 36-hour work week.

You will join a team dedicated to high-acuity patients, receive comprehensive orientation, and participate in ongoing professional development including ACLS, PALS, and critical care trainings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (RN NC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families; participate in ongoing learning and education.
• Evaluate and communicate about patient care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implement care for complex patients, including safety, education and discharge planning.
• Lead and collaborate to achieve unit goals and participate in performance improvement.
• Assess priorities and plan care; coordinate resources for discharge planning.
• Read journals and discuss applicable studies with the staff.
