Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse for the PCCU—Medical ICU (Open Heart Surgery and Neurosurgery Pods) in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week with 7:00 am to 7:30 pm shifts, every third weekend, and rotating holidays.

You will develop and implement care plans, assess patients, educate families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes. Illinois RN license and ACLS/BLS required; inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN, must obtain BSN within five years of start date.
• Active Illinois RN license and ACLS/BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops a plan of care and evaluates progress toward outcomes with revisions as needed.
• Performs patient assessment and health data collection with patient/family involvement.
• Communicates care plan to patient/family and interdisciplinary team; documents data.
• Educates patient and family on disease management, self-care, and resources.
• Collaborates with peers and mentors; supports clinical education and delegated tasks.
• Provides compassionate psychological support and assists with procedures as needed.
• Participates in performance improvement and keeps up with wound/ostomy/skin care trends.
• Daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care when skilled; monitors treatment effectiveness.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations; assists in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
