Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks an RN PCCU for the Medical ICU (Open Heart Surgery and Neurosurgery Pods) in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time role is 36 hours per week with 7:00 am to 7:30 pm shifts, including every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The ideal candidate will develop and evaluate care plans, perform patient assessments, and educate patients and families. ACLS/BLS, an active IL license, and inpatient experience are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing is required; BSN must be completed within five years if ADN is the highest degree.
• Active Illinois nursing license is required to practice.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Develops a care plan with interventions to achieve outcomes and revises as needed.
• Performs patient assessments and collects health data with family involvement.
• Communicates plan of care to patient, family, and interdisciplinary team; documents data.
• Individualizes teaching based on learning needs and cultural background.
• Mentors peers and supports clinical education; delegates tasks as appropriate.
• Provide compassionate psychological support to patients and families.
• Assist technical staff with contrast, venipuncture, drugs, oxygen therapy, and IV care.
• Participates in performance improvement and nursing research activities.
• If skilled, conducts daily wound/ostomy/skin care rounds and monitors outcomes.
