Job summary
Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Staff Nurse for the PCCU – Medical ICU to deliver high-quality care in open heart surgery and neurosurgery pods. This full-time role offers a 36-hour week schedule, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm shifts, and requires rotating weekends and holidays with potential float to other units.
The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree or higher in Nursing, active IL license, ACLS/BLS, and at least 1 year of inpatient nursing experience.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN, BSN within five years.
- Active Illinois State Nursing License.
- ACLS Required; BLS Required.
- 1 year of inpatient nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Develops a plan of care with interventions to achieve outcomes.
- Provides patient assessment and health data collection.
- Communicates plan of care to patient and family; coordinates with physician and team.
- Tailors teaching to patient/family; considers cultural background and learning needs.
- Supports professional development and education of peers; delegates tasks as needed.
- Maintain compassionate environment and provide psychological support.
- Assist with contrast administration, venipuncture, IV management, and O2 therapy as needed.
- Participates in performance improvement and wound/ostomy/skin care initiatives.
- Complies with HIPAA and transports acutely ill patients when required.
