Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on the nursing unit under RN supervision. You will assist with basic hygiene, mobility, vital signs, nutrition, and documentation, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma and PA Nursing Assistant certification (or enrollment in a qualifying program), with at least 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Pennsylvania Department of Health Nursing Assistant Certification preferred or required.
• One year recent experience in a clinical setting providing direct patient care or enrollment in a health-related program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition and elimination needs.
• Take and communicate patient information accurately to the nurse.
• Orient patients to the unit and room on admission and ongoing.
• Answer call lights and perform timely rounds to meet patient/family needs.
• Document tasks according to unit policies and procedures.
• Clean and tag patient equipment and report repairs.
• Assist in emergencies (Code 68, Code Yellow).
• Transport patients and perform courier duties as needed.
• Restock supplies for patient care and maintain isolation supplies and linen.
• Record temperature logs and maintain a clean nursing unit.
• Assist with general duties to keep unit orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
