Job summary

Centralus Health joins Cayuga Medical Center ICU in Ithaca, NY, seeking a Nursing Assistant for per diem shifts to support direct patient care in a high-acuity unit. The role involves assisting nursing staff, maintaining patient comfort and safety, and adhering to unit protocols.

Onsite position with mandatory orientation; NYS CNA preferred; BLS provided if needed; standard hourly pay range $19.47–$25.75 plus benefits; EEO employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification provided if needed.
• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care including toileting, ambulation, repositioning, vitals, and reporting changes to the RN.
• Reinforce patient education such as incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
• Maintain a clean, organized bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Conduct hourly rounds on each patient.
• Complete mandatory orientation: 1 full week, Mon-Fri 8a-4p before start.
