Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Cayuga Medical Center ICU in Ithaca, NY. This part-time, night-shift position supports nurses with direct patient care and ADLs in an ICU setting, onsite at Cayuga Medical Center.

Two 12-hour shifts per week (6:45pm–7:15am), with every other weekend and holidays as assigned. Requires high school or equivalent and BLS; CNA certification and prior patient-care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification to be provided if needed.
• Preferred: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) and prior patient-care experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care, including toileting, ambulation, repositioning, and monitoring intake/output.
• Reinforce patient education and preventive measures (e.g., incentive spirometer use, fall prevention).
• Maintain a clean, organized bedside area for a safe work environment.
• Conduct hourly patient rounds to monitor status and needs.
