Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for Cayuga Medical Center ICU on a per diem basis. You will provide direct patient care, assist with toileting, ambulation and daily activities, monitor patients, and report findings to the RN, while maintaining a clean, safe bedside area.

Onsite at 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY, shifts require a minimum of 72 hours per 8-week cycle. Pay range $19.47–$25.75 per hour plus benefits; BLS is provided if needed; NYS CNA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience.
• BLS will be provided if needed.
• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care—Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings to the RN.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
