Qualifications

• Two years post-licensure acute care experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; NLN-accredited program required?
• Current New York State RN license.
• Onboarding requires copy of BLS certification.
• Acute care experience counted if in acute care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assumes Charge RN role on unit and provides supervision.
• Direct patient care and adherence to medical regimens.
• Develops initial nursing assessment and care plan within 8 hours of admission.
• Assigns daily patient care tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Documents patient/family teaching and ensures understanding of instructions.
• Preceptor role in orientation of nursing staff and students.
