Qualifications

• Two years post-licensure acute care nursing experience.
• Two years of experience in area of specialization preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Unit-specific specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes Charge RN role on unit and provides first-level supervision to nursing staff.
• Assumes responsibility for delivery of nursing care to all assigned patients.
• Develops initial nursing assessment and interdisciplinary plan of care within eight hours of admission.
• Reviews or revises nursing assessment and plan as patient condition changes (at least every 24 hours).
• Prepares daily patient care assignments based on patient needs and staff credentials.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Documents patient/family teaching and ensures alignment with physician instructions.
• Renders direct patient care when needed and serves as a resource for staff.
• Monitors nursing care quality and outcomes; conducts annual evaluations and competencies.
