Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking a Nursing Support role to provide professional and basic patient care under RN direction. The position requires a high school diploma, BLS, and at least one year in healthcare. CNA preferred; EKG/Phlebotomy coursework a plus.

Responsibilities include ADLs, room prep, safety, and observation of patients. Hours: 24 hours/week on the night shift (two 12-hour shifts), with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One (1) year experience in health care or nursing services.
• Preferred CNA certification or equivalent.
• Three (3) years experience in health care or nursing services.
• Coursework in EKG and Phlebotomy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living (ADLs) with patient safety in mind.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission and maintains a clean, safe environment.
• Transports patients for procedures and discharge as directed.
• Collects, records, and reports vital signs and observations to RN.
• Operates glucopeneter and other basic bedside equipment safely.
• Attends to meals and nourishments and assists as needed.
• Demonstrates ability to perform technical tasks under supervision.
• Notifies nurse of any concerning changes or behaviors.
