Job summary

Barnes Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a patient care assistant to support the ICU Neuro unit. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses, assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and help maintain a safe, healing environment.

Preferred candidates have CNA, PCT, or EMT experience; high school diploma or GED; you will work nights (7 pm–7:30 am), 36 hours per week, with holiday rotation and every third weekend; includes training and commitment to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant license preferred.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse, assisting with ADLs and monitoring vitals.
• Collects and documents patient data, reports changes to the nursing team.
• Assists with patient and family education and maintains accurate medical records.
• Acts as a 1:1 safety sitter as needed and ensures supply availability.
• Participates in activities to promote patient safety, quality care and regulatory compliance.
