Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the Neurosurgery unit. The role provides direct patient care under RN supervision, collects vital signs, assists with ADLs, and helps ensure patient safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, with CNA experience preferred, and will join a team dedicated to high-quality patient care centered on safety and compassion.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
