Job summary

Air Methods is seeking an experienced paramedic/flight crew member to deliver high-quality pre-hospital ALS. The role involves rapid-response transport by helicopter, adherence to CBS medical directives, and ongoing education to maintain clinical excellence.

You will participate in mission liftoffs and debriefings, manage equipment and supplies on board, and collaborate with physicians, pilots, and base staff to ensure patient safety and efficient care during the transport continuum.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3+ years related experience or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in a busy 911 system
• Previous critical care transport and flight experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact to handoff and maintain documentation
• Operate within state scope of practice and maintain competency through ongoing education
• Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, and training; attend required educational programs
• Report equipment status and ensure onboard supplies; keep aircraft ready for rapid response
• Participate in patient follow-up, referrals, and outreach activities
• Attend pre-mission briefings/debriefings and assist pilot with communication and navigation as needed
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings and serve as a flight resource for neonatal/pediatric transports
• Engage in departmental activities, projects, and research; stay updated on pre-hospital care issues
