Job summary

Advocate Health, Inc. is seeking an ICU Float Registered Nurse for the Wisconsin Resource Team. This multi-site role supports ICU care across Wisconsin division, providing adaptable, high-quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need.

The candidate will hold an RN license with BLS and ACLS, and have at least 2 years of ICU experience; a BSN is preferred. The role requires flexibility to float as needed and strong collaboration across teams to ensure safe

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license with privileges where practicing.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers; ACLS required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience.
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6 weeks (Fri 1900–Mon 0700).
• 2 holidays per year.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and delegates appropriately.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and supports integrated, unbiased patient care.
• Appropriately delegates to RNs, LPNs, and assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities as needed.
• Demonstrates age-specific care knowledge and growth/development awareness.
