Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required for EMR documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Certification Addendum compliance required.
• Maintain annual hospital certification education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding, mobility and positioning.
• Measures and documents vital signs and intake/output in EMR.
• Performs rounding and communicates patient observations to RN.
• Assists in admissions, transfers and discharges with room setup and supplies.
• Collects specimens and performs approved point-of-care tests.
• Shops for and stocks nursing area; cleans equipment and work areas.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties with safe technique.
• Maintains skin integrity and uses protective devices as prescribed.
• May remove IVs, assist with post mortem care, and conduct bladder scans as directed.
• Adheres to infection prevention policies and PPE guidelines.
• Provides age-appropriate care with consideration of development across lifespan.
