Job summary

Grady Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the ICU team, delivering comprehensive care to critically ill patients under physician supervision. The APP will conduct assessments, manage diagnoses, order and interpret tests, and lead treatment plans in collaboration with the ICU staff.

The role emphasizes autonomous practice within a multidisciplinary ICU, direct patient and family care, and involvement in research and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse or Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant.
• Two or more years of experience as a critical care nurse or two years as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Georgia RN license or NP/APRN license (as applicable).
• APRN/PA credentialing for critical care in inpatient settings.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and diagnoses for acute and chronic illness in critically ill patients.
• Order, supervise, interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
• Collaborate with ICU team to manage a caseload of critically ill patients under physician supervision.
• Provide direct patient/family care, counseling, and advocacy as part of holistic care.
• Engage in consultation, research, and quality improvement activities related to critical care.

Education

Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse

Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant (NBME / AAPA)

Georgia RN license (for NPs)

NP/PA Advanced Practice Certification (APRN/PA)

BLS & ACLS certifications
