Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the ICU team. The APP will assess, admit, stabilize and manage ICU patients under intensivist supervision, coordinating care with surgeons and hospitalists on the medical-surgical floor.

Responsibilities include history and physicals, ordering tests, rounds, discharge prep, and family education. ACLS certified providers with PA/NP licensure are required; ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field is required.
• Completion of a 2-year PA or NP program is required.
• NP or PA licensure is required (state license).
• ACLS certification is required.
• 1–0 years of related experience; ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments, admissions, stabilization and ongoing ICU management under intensivist direction.
• Complete pre-admission history and physicals and coordinate treatment plans.
• Enter orders in EMR and conduct daily rounds with care teams.
• Educate patients and families and provide discharge planning and coordination.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and care referrals as needed.
