Job summary

The Rink Exchange is seeking an Ice Technician in Eugene, OR to help maintain high-quality ice and operate the ice resurfacer. Flexible shifts, weekends included, with on-site responsibilities at the rink.

General Description

The Rink Exchange (an ice sports facility in Eugene, OR) is in need of an ice technician. Ice Technicians provide for quality of ice and generally are responsible for routine driving of the ice resurfacer. This person does not need prior experience driving an ice resurfacer but general knowledge/experience in driving a vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• driving the ice resurfacer (Zamboni)
• providing ice maintenance duties
• providing janitorial services
• providing skate sharpening services
• answering and routing telephone calls
• providing general customer service to the patrons of the Rink Exchange.

Prerequisites

• Applicants must have a reliable way to get to and from work and must be able to show up to work on time consistently.
• Computer skills are preferred but not required.
• Having prior customer service experience is also preferred.
• Previous general driving experience (standard vehicle) is preferred.

Time Commitment

Full time (35 hours/week) and part time (15-20 hour/week) positions are open. 20-30 hours per week working 3-5 days per week. Flexible days and hours but generally late afternoon to late evening shifts on weekdays. Shifts start as early as 6AM on weekends. Closing shift on weekends ends as late as 12AM.This position is ideal for a student of the University of Oregon of Lane Community College.
