Job summary

Glencoe Park District is seeking a Part-Time Manager to oversee daily operations at the two-sheet ice facility under the supervision of the Facility Manager. The role focuses on ice quality, safety, and staff supervision, with a dynamic schedule including nights and weekends.

The position runs November through March, offering 15–35 hours per week. Duties include ice maintenance, supervising staff, and supporting events, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-2 years of experience driving a Zamboni, managing staff, and overseeing a facility.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 1 month of hire.
• Must pass criminal background check, at district expense.
• Strong ice maintenance knowledge and public recreation understanding.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Zamboni and related equipment to keep ice clean and safe.
• Clean lobby, washrooms, offices, locker rooms, and related areas.
• Supervise cashier, skate guard, and party attendant staff.
• Oversee nightly closing procedures and opening routines.
• Lead staff in emergencies per the Emergency Action Plan.
• Attend staff meetings and wear the required uniform on duty.
• Perform daily maintenance of ice-making equipment and rink components.
• Open and close the building and prepare rink for events.
• Complete safety reports and report incidents immediately.
