Job summary

Pacific Hospitality Group's Merry Meritage at Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa is seeking Ice Rink Guards for a seasonal period November 13, 2026–January 10, 2027. The role focuses on safety, guest service, and creating festive experiences for guests of all ages in an outdoor rink environment.

You will monitor the rink, enforce rules, assist guests, provide basic first aid, and work collaboratively with resort teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient and confident skater.
• Experience at ice rink, recreation facility, resort, amusement venue, or similar environment preferred.
• Guest service, lifeguard, security, recreation, first aid, or emergency response experience beneficial.
• Strong communication with children, families, and guests of varying ages.
• Ability to enforce safety rules with professionalism, patience, and good judgment.
• Remain alert and focused in a busy public outdoor environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or ability to complete training.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak-season periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the ice rink and surrounding areas to promote safety and guest enjoyment.
• Enforce rink rules, safety procedures, session guidelines, and capacity limits.
• Assist guests with rink procedures, questions, session information, and resort details.
• Help children, families, beginning skaters, and guests needing assistance.
• Identify and respond to unsafe behavior, falls, injuries, and guest concerns.
• Provide basic first aid within training scope and notify management or emergency personnel when needed.
• Maintain awareness of ice conditions, guest flow, and hazards.
• Communicate with managers and team members using radios or devices.
• Assist with guest flow during sessions, breaks, events, and rink closures.
• Support opening/closing procedures, safety inspections, and rink prep.
• Monitor rental skates, safety equipment, barriers, and signage.
• Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, rule violations, and maintenance issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable rink and guest areas.
• Collaborate with rink, retail, F&B, security, and resort teams.
• Maintain a festive, service-focused atmosphere in every interaction.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulations.
• Perform additional responsibilities to support the Merry Meritage.
