Job summary

Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is seeking a Recreation Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of skilled trades, daily cleaning, event setup, and routine facility upkeep.

Under the Recreation Facility Manager, you will maintain ice equipment, repair building systems, and assist with crowd control and daily logs. Candidates should have a high school diploma and two years’ maintenance experience; ability to work flexible shifts, on-call, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Two years’ maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of drywalling, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work.
• Knowledge and ability to operate tools and equipment; CPR/First Aid training required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Mantains ice with Zamboni and other equipment.
• Makes repairs and maintains ice-making systems.
• Performs building maintenance including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Sets up/tears down tables, chairs, stages for events.
• Takes daily readings of facility equipment.
• Keeps work area clean; assists with special equipment installation/removal.
• Assists custodial staff and coordinates tasks of student workers.
• Assists with crowd control and daily facility rule enforcement.
• Assists Recreation Facility Manager with orders and daily logs.
