Job summary

City of New Brighton in Minnesota is seeking a recreation aide to support neighborhood ice rink operations and customer service, performing routine duties and assisting with activities for residents and program participants. You will direct play and other activities, provide information to customers, assist with light maintenance of ice rinks and grounds, and clean or repair equipment and facilities.

You will work cooperatively with supervisors and fellow staff and follow safety and emergency

Qualifications

• Knowledge of program operations and customer relations.
• Excellent planning, organizing, implementation, and communication.
• Ability to move and/or lift materials/equipment (>50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Direct play and activities at the rink.
• Provide information to customers.
• Assist in light maintenance of ice rinks and grounds.
• Clean and minor repairs to equipment and facilities.

Performs a variety of routine duties assisting in recreation maintenance and customer service activities at neighborhood ice rinks.

• Helps direct play and other activities at the recreational facility.
• Provides information to customers.
• Assists in light maintenance of ice-skating rinks and grounds.
• Cleans and makes minor repairs to recreational equipment and facilities.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers
• Insure safety precautions are taken in all activities; and follow proper emergency procedures when needed.
• Communicate needs and requests; including those of participants or their parents to supervisors.

• A demonstrated knowledge of program operations and customer relations sufficient to perform the essential accountabilities of this position.
• Excellent planning; organizing; implementation; and communication are expected.

• Work experiences with youth programs and customer service.
• There will be moving and/or lifting of materials and/or equipment; typically greater than 50 lbs.
