Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service experience or equivalent.
• 1+ year of high-volume foodservice management or equivalent.
• 2+ years of foodservice experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Valid Food Safety Manager certificate or equivalent (may be obtained within 60 days).

Responsibilities

• Lead a store team of 8-15 staff with focus on customer service and professionalism.
• Uphold Sundae standards, SOP execution, customer satisfaction, and staff retention.
• Recruit, hire, train, and retain talented employees.
• Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and apply disciplinary actions when needed.
• Be available for on-call and emergency coverage as required.
• Manage inventory, monitor waste, and control portions and transfers.
• Oversee production of waffles, toppings and sauces to meet demand.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and store appearance.
• Monitor seasonal sales and ensure appropriate staffing to manage labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety requirements and HACCP where applicable.
• Engage with the local community to build relationships.
• Collaborate with Production Manager for cohesive retail and production operations.
• Participate in staff, management, and leadership meetings and handle payroll scheduling.

Store Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 8-15 staff by demonstrating exemplary customer service, portion control, and presentation, all while maintaining the upmost professionalism in a high volume, quick service environment
• Uphold Sundae's standards by promoting a culture of continuous improvement with a constant focus on SOP execution, customer satisfaction, and employee retention
• Confidently cultivate and grow a team by regularly assessing and developing direct reports to ensure they are engaged and motivated with a constant focus on being an exceptional employer
• Efficiently recruit, hire, train and retain talented employees
• Provide regular and effective feedback to direct reports, complete performance reviews, and administer disciplinary actions when necessary
• Support business requirements by being available for on call and emergency coverage
• Sustain operational inventory levels by placing regular vendor orders, monitoring waste, controlling portion sizes, and accurately tracking outgoing and incoming transfers
• Manage high-quality waffle cone, topping, and sauce production while meeting fluctuating volume demands
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and appearance throughout the store
• Monitor seasonal sales trends to ensure operational success through adequate staffing that meets labor cost metrics
• Meet or exceed food safety requirements as established by local and state health departments and industry best practices; food safety management and HACCP certifications may be required
• Intentionally interact with the local community to maintain strong ties and foster connections
• Collaborate closely with the Production Manager to ensure cohesive retail and production operations, supporting consistent product quality and operational success.
• Participate in and contribute to regular staff, management, and leadership meetings
• Perform administrative tasks required for retail operations, including but not limited to bank deposits, payroll reporting, and scheduling

Physical Requirements:

• Move, traverse or remain in a stationary position for up to 10 hours
• Constantly use manual (e.g., scooping ice cream) and automatic foodservice equipment and touchscreens
• Regularly move up to 25 pounds for a distance of 50 feet or more
• Occasionally move up to 50 pounds for a distance of 25 feet or more
• Occasionally ascend/descend ladder to clean or lift items stored above
• Occasionally position self to clean, maintain equipment, and retrieve items below counter height
