Job summary

The Magnum Ice Cream Company is seeking a Front-Line Manager to oversee production and warehousing activities for a 25-person shift. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methods to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing (food preferred), strong people leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory/lead experience in manufacturing (food manufacturing preferred).
• Experience in production and materials management.
• Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement program experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate autonomous teams.
• Strong communication to influence in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery and morale.
• Oversee site activities; communicate, investigate and address problems; drive performance improvements.
• Facilitate shift employee development through training, coaching, feedback and performance management.
• Supervise the manufacture of quality products to meet specs in GMP, SPC, and manufacturing specs.
• Recommend and review staffing needs to achieve production schedules.
• Ensure a safe work environment by implementing safety standards and action plans.
• Prepare, maintain and analyze manufacturing reports related to quality, efficiency, waste and attainment.
• Continually improve the quality of each area through process innovation and methods improvement.
• Plan and execute plant trials for new product innovations.
• Membership and active participation on the Hazmat team is required.
