Job summary

Magnum Icc Sweden Supply Ab seeks a skilled Controls & Automation Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing operations through automation, process control, and digital integration.

The role will integrate equipment from multiple OEM vendors into a single ice cream production line, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. You will design, commission, start up, and continuously improve automated systems while collaborating across operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in automation/controls engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, and industrial networks.
• Proven equipment integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and OEMs.
• Knowledge of MES, data historians, and analytics tools (PowerBI).
• Exposure to robotics, vision systems, and advanced automation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems with OEM and site teams.
• Lead integration of equipment from multiple vendors into a seamless line.
• Align control philosophies, protocols, interlocks, and sequencing across vendors.
• Ensure smooth production line operation including startup and changeovers.
• Coordinate interfaces between processing, packaging, utilities and ancillary equipment.
• Lead automation scope for capital projects, line installations and upgrades.
• Collaborate with OEMs, engineering, and site stakeholders to optimize systems.
• Support commissioning activities including FAT, SAT, site tests, and performance validation.
• Troubleshoot automation issues to ensure reliable operations.
• Optimize control logic to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Integrate plant automation with MES/ERP, historians, and data platforms.
• Support development of digital solutions and data dashboards.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Develop preventive/predictive maintenance strategies for control systems.
• Conduct RCA to improve reliability and uptime.
• Drive continuous improvement for productivity and waste reduction.
• Maintain automation documentation and SOPs.
• Standardize automation across platforms and support EEM/MOC processes.
