Job summary

Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Day shift production line operator to run the line safely and consistently, meeting daily targets and quality standards. You will work with maintenance and quality teams, follow SOPs, maintain hygiene, minimize waste, and ensure accurate handovers while upholding our values and a strong safety culture.

Ideal candidates have basic mechanical aptitude, good problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work across shifts.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• One-year related experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate to standard operating procedures.
• Keep machines clean but not damaged by excess water.
• Have basic ice cream knowledge, understanding the ‘WHY’ behind operations.
• Ensure limited water is used when cleaning with a ‘clean as you go’ principle.
• Correct use, storage and setup of all equipment.
• Report faults and issues to Maintenance and next shift.
• Drive the production process to meet customer specifications, quality and food safety.
• Control the manufacturing process to meet targeted outputs.
• Communicate effectively with the entire team.
• Maintain health and safety requirements and a positive safety culture.
• Coordinate local work team day-to-day efforts (breaks, lunches, rotations).
• Represent the Froneri Way through our Operating Model and Core Values.
