Job summary

Oak Lawn Park District is seeking a part-time Skate Guard to help maintain order on the ice, enforce rules, and assist patrons. You will work with a small team to ensure safety and a positive experience for skaters and visitors.

This role emphasizes customer service and follow-through during intermissions and rescues. Previous skating experience is preferred; evenings and weekends are common. Reports to the Ice Arena Supervisor and offers a chance to contribute to community recreation.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum degree of skating proficiency.
• Knowledge of facility rules is desired.
• Ability to enforce rules and assist patrons.
• Interacts with patrons and works with staff.
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Must enforce rules and clear patrons from ice prior to resurfacing.
• Interact with patrons and assist in cleaning of patron areas.
• Assist in handing out rental skates and announce information during intermission.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and work with staff as needed.
