Job summary

City of Worthington is seeking an Ice Arena Attendant to operate the ice resurfacer and monitor facility rules and usage. Responsibilities include skate sharpening, supervising events, and cash handling at the front desk.

The role is seasonal with nights, weekends and holidays, averaging 10–20 hours per week. A valid driver's license is required and prior service industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front Desk register, ring up sales, handle reservations and payments.

• Ensure facility cleanliness inside and out; manage waste and housekeeping.
• Provide customer service, skate sharpening, supervise arena events.
• Enforce arena rules, operate cash register accurately, assist staff and public.
• Report missing or damaged equipment to managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ICE ARENA ATTENDANT# ICE ARENA ATTENDANTHot Job1600 Stower Dr - Worthington, MN 56187## OverviewSalary Range$16.00 - $16.00 HourlyLevelEntryPosition TypeSeasonal## Description**SUMMARY**The Ice Arena Attendant is responsible for the operation of the Ice Resurfacer and monitoring users use of the facilities for adherence to the Rules & Regulations regarding facility use. In addition, they perform functions/duties relating to operation and maintenance of facilities, skate sharpening and cashiering duties. Generally, operates under the supervision of the Field House Manager or Assistant Manager. Schedule is predominately nights, weekends and holidays for approximately 10- 20 hours/week seasonally.**ACCOUNTABILITIES**Reports to: Field House Manager Also receives work direction from Assistant Field House ManagerSupervises: Has no supervisory responsibilities**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Operates Front Desk register which includes ringing up sales and making correct change. Takes reservations and payments for facility spaces.2. Maintains ice surface in optimum condition for a variety of ice related activities. * Maintain and operate ice resurfacer equipment * Perform resurfacing in a manner that keeps ice use hours on schedule * Maintains a high-quality ice surface.3. Responsible for cleanliness of the facility’s interior/exterior, its furniture and equipment, including emptying waste containers, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, etc.4. Performs customer service-related duties including, but not limited to: * Skate sharpening * Supervise skating and other events held in the arena * Act as a supervisor during open skating and other events * Aids in enforcing arena rules and policies * Accurately operates the cash register * Maintains a positive working relationship with subordinates, peers, supervisors and public.5. Check for missing/damaged equipment; if found, report the condition to the Field House Manager or Assistant Field House Manager.6. Check for cleanliness throughout the day; report any major concerns.7.
