Job summary

Fenagh Engineering & Testing seeks an ICC Reinforced Concrete and ICC Soils Inspector in Austin, TX to perform field inspections and testing on diverse projects. You will verify compliance with plans, specifications, and codes, and communicate findings to project teams.

The ideal candidate holds ICC certifications, can read complex drawings, and works independently in a fast-paced environment. Valid Texas license and outdoor work capability are required.

Qualifications

• Current ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector Certification required.
• Current ICC Soils Special Inspector Certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, geotechnical reports, and structural plans.
• Knowledge of IBC, ACI, ASTM and applicable construction standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with mobile reporting software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and testing on commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
• Inspect reinforcing steel, concrete placement, sampling, and related activities.
• Conduct soils inspections including density testing and subgrade evaluations.
• Document inspection activities and prepare daily reports.
• Communicate findings to contractors, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Identify deficiencies and document non-conforming work.
• Maintain certifications and stay current with codes and standards.
• Coordinate inspection schedules with contractors and project teams.
• Support lab operations and additional field testing as needed.
