Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete) for our Charlotte, NC office. The role focuses on structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, foundations, and field testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt.

The ideal candidate will have ICC Reinforced Concrete certification (PTI a plus) and the ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety documents. Selection includes competitive pay and benefits.

• ICC Reinforced Concrete certification is required.
• PTI Certification is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, safety rules, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural elements for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations.
• Perform field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and inspections.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff about construction issues.
